Certificate for CCTV Operators


Introduction: 
This course is designed in accordance with the Security Industry Authority’s specification for core competency training and qualifications for CCTV Operators (Public Space Surveillance), BS 7958: 1999 CCTV Management and Operation and the Data Protection Act CCTV Code of Practice.
The successful achievement of this course is a requirement for Security Officers intending to apply for an SIA Licence to Practice.

Unit (1) - Working in the Private Security Industry 

Programme Overview
Duration: 10 hours of guided learning
Assessment: One multiple choice assessment
This unit is mandatory to achieve either Security Guarding, Door Supervision or CCTV (PSS) Operators qualifications and obtain your relevant SIA Licence.

Unit (2) - Working as a CCTV (PSS) Operator

Programme Overview

Duration: 16 hours of guided learning

This unit is mandatory to achieve the CCTV (PSS) Operator qualification and obtain a CCTV (PSS) Operator SIA Licence.

Unit (3) - Practical Operation of CCTV Equipment

This unit is mandatory to achieve the CCTV (PSS) Operator qualification and obtain a CCTV (PSS) Operator SIA Licence.

This unit aims to introduce learners to a "live" CCTV environment and build on the knowledge gained in the Working as a CCTV Operator unit.
